I would love to take a class from Iivo Wegelius. I was fortunate enough to have Iivo assist/co-teach in two classes I taught in the spring of 2012 and was impressed with all aspects of his teaching. Of course his physiotherapy background gives him extensive knowledge of anatomy and treatment options for a wide range of problems that patients present, but his skills in the intangibles are what set him apart from many other teachers. He articulates his imformation very clearly, both in lecture and in supervision at tables.
He is good natured and patient and generous with his time and knowledge so that leaning is carried on to a deeper level. Most importantly, he has an excellent touch that is powerful but also is pleasing to the recipients so their tissue can relax and change. Iivo freely admits that his early training in physiotherapy paid minimal attention to the mechanics of how to work gracefully with tissue and has made this subjective skill his first priority both in his own practice and in his teaching.
No matter what subject you would study with Iivo, the knowledge gained in how to work deeply and effortlessly with the different layers of the muscles and fascia will be of immeasurable value.
